Conservative run WSCC has listened to the views of local Councillors, residents and the Shoreham Society amongst others, concerning the replacement footbridge over the R. Adur at Shoreham. A planning application has been prepared and incorporates a number of the suggestions that have come though the consultaiton process. Still early days, but if the design checks out we will have a new glass sided bridge, wide enough for pedestrians and cyclists and still able to open for navigation purposes. Tthe sides will be high enough to give some protection from the weather and it will have low level lights to illuminate the footpath, solar powered navigation lights and will be scanned by the existing CCTV system. Subject to budget availability there will be some landscaping works particularly to the south side.
