Adur and Worthing tourism businesses and attractions are working in partnership with the Council to launch the Cycle Friendly Business Scheme. The scheme, which is free to join and already supported by a number of Adur and Worthing businesses, recognises and supports efforts to welcome visiting cyclists and offer facilities for their use.
Supporters of the scheme are enthusiastic about developing a cycle friendly approach.
One local cafe owner said ‘For me this is another sign of positive changes we are seeing in Worthing. Here we have businesses supporting cyclists because they know more visiting cyclists will support their businesses, if those cyclists know that their bikes are welcome’
Local hoteliers added: ‘As keen cyclist ourselves we are more than aware of what a unique offer Worthing has for cyclists. With the route along the seafront heading for Shoreham-by-Sea, Brighton and beyond and access to the steeper climbs and fantastic views available on or off road into the Southdown's, Worthing is an idyllic location for cyclist wishing to see the area on two wheels. Were very pleased to support and be part of the Cycle Friendly scheme and look forward to providing a quality service to cyclists in the future.’
