Tim Loughton MP has welcomed new figures showing that 444 fewer people are claiming Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) in East Worthing and Shoreham compared with this time last year. In total, 798 fewer people in Tim’s constituency are relying on JSA since 2010. That represents a drop of 49% in unemployment.
Tim said: ‘This is excellent news for local people and shows that Adur and Worthing are undergoing a sustained recovery. More people off of benefits and into work means a better and brighter future ahead.
With recent investment from Brighton and Hove Albion, Ricardo and Paula Rosa Manhattan signalling confidence in Adur and Worthing, it is reassuring to know that that our local area is also creating more local jobs. The Government’s long-term economic plan is working and these figures show that the country is on the right track.’
