Our MP, Tim Loughton, will also be posting regular guidance throughout. Tim has put together a 'Coronavirus Advice' section on his website which can be found here - some of this advice is provided below:
Sainsburys- From Monday 23rd March, our online customers who are over 70 years of age or have a disability will also be given priority access to online delivery slots. We will contact these customers in the coming days with more details. We plan to operate an expanded ‘click and collect’ service, and will significantly increase the number of collection sites across the country over the coming days in preparation for this. This includes making provisions for self-isolating customers to use this channel.
Waitrose- From Friday 20 March, the first opening hour in Waitrose supermarkets will be dedicated to our elderly and vulnerable shoppers, as well as those who look after them.
Tesco- All stores (except Express stores) will be prioritising the elderly and most vulnerable for one hour between 9am and 10am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The objective is to slow the spread of the virus and we judge it is the right moment to do that.
But of course, as I’ve always said, we also need to keep the NHS going and to treat the number of rising cases. So we need health workers who are also parents to continue to go to work.
And we need other critical workers with children to keep doing their jobs too – from police officers who are keeping us safe to the supermarket delivery drivers, social care workers who look after the elderly and who are so vital. We will be setting out more details shortly about who we mean in these groups.
So we therefore need schools to make provision for the children of these key workers who would otherwise be forced to stay home. And they will also need to look after the most vulnerable children.
Please follow the expert advice and STAY SAFE, STAY HOME.
