Stop the Brighton takeover of Adur & Worthing!

The Labour Government is forcing through devolution for Sussex which will see the abolition of your local Adur and Worthing and West Sussex councils. In their place will be three new 'super councils' replacing the counties, city, districts and boroughs of Sussex. The Labour Government has not yet decided what areas these councils will serve but has indicated that this will not simply be West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and East Sussex. Instead, it looks like Brighton and Hove will be expanding its reach along the coast and the most likely land-grab is Adur and Worthing.

Whatever you think of devolution and the need for change, merging Brighton and Adur and Worthing is not in our interest. Our voices will be lost to the big city and decisions will be made about us by people who don't understand our area nor consider it a priority.

Local Conservatives are campaigning to make sure that Adur and Worthing does not get subsumed into Brighton but instead is part of a collection of other Sussex districts and boroughs, all with an equal share of voice.

Let's tell Labour what we think of 'Greater Brighton', sign our petition to stop the Brighton land grab today.
