A range of global food producers, mobile coffee sellers and watersports firms are among the many pop-up traders that visitors to Worthing can enjoy this summer.
To support local businesses to get up and running again post-COVID lockdown, Worthing Borough Council has increased the number of pop-up spaces for businesses to trade from during the summer months as part of its seasonal concessions programme.
This includes a series of locations along the promenade - from Brooklands in East Worthing to Sea Lane Cafe in Goring - which plays host to pop-up traders from April to September, with a growing number of operators choosing to remain throughout the winter season too.
Cllr Kevin Jenkins, Worthing Borough Council's Executive Member for Regeneration, said:
“We recognise that local companies are operating in a difficult climate, which is why we've increased the capacity this summer for pop-up businesses to be able to trade in our public spaces, thereby creating a safe environment for traders and shoppers.
“This is part of a package we have put in place to support our local businesses, which also includes encouraging cafes, bars and restaurants to use public spaces to create outdoor seating areas for their customers.”
