Tim Loughton has praised newly released jobs figures which show that the number of people claiming Job Seekers Allowance has fallen to a new low of 1.3% of the economically active population.
The number of people now claiming JSA is 264 lower than the same time in May 2014 and 26 fewer than in April of this year.
The figures represent the lowest number of people out of work for over five years.
Commenting, Tim said:
“These figures are great news but more importantly behind the numbers are people who have found work and are now bringing home a regular pay packet. We must keep to the Government’s economic plan if we are to continue getting more people into work. This is a great step towards our aim of full employment.”
