A good measure of how well a local economy is doing is the employment rate. In Worthing, the rate is 85.6%, well above the national rate of 78.5%. Compare this to Labour controlled Brighton & Hove where the rate is only 76.9%, or even worse take a look at Labour controlled Hastings at 67.3%. Indeed, Worthing performs in the top quartile of local authorities nationally.
Remember this when you go to vote in the local elections on May 2nd.
Every labour Government has left office with unemployment higher that when they took office. It seems this may also applies to Labour Councils!
