Visitors to Beach Green, Lancing, will soon benefit from refreshed and refitted public conveniences, another piece in a complex jigsaw designed to make the area 'the place to be' this summer.
With a sea view open-air gym, new children's play area and a freshly repainted seafront shelter, Lancing's Beach Green is the perfect place to while away long summer days - as thousands of local residents and visitors do every year. However, it's long been felt that the local public conveniences weren't worthy of such a beautiful, popular, seafront location.
Adur District Council is delighted to announce that the final finishes touches are being applied to a brand new toilet block. Featuring a new beach hut style roof (replicating the feel of the nearby seaside huts), the block will cater to visitors’ needs in a modern, dignified, setting.
In order to bring this project to fruition, Adur District Council, in partnership with Lancing Vision Delivery Partnership and Parish Council, applied for the funding needed to overhaul the facilities, also addressing a number of complaints about poor capacity and anti social activities. After formal processes were complete, funding was granted and local traders PH Beck were appointed to begin the work in April 2015, and the work was completed by 20th July 2015.
These vital improvements represent just only one of a number of Lancing-focused projects enhancing the seafront offer and celebrating the area's unique community.
